KVCH Community Health Library


The mission of the KVCH Community Health Library is to provide a designated site where current health-related information is readily accessible to patients, families, students, healthcare professionals and all interested individuals in Kittitas County.

In today's healthcare environment, many patients are increasing their participation in both treatment and prevention of disease. This requires more information and education, and the KVCH Community Health Library is here to help.

Library services are user-friendly and free to the public. Helpful library staff is available each weekday to help you find information about medical conditions, learn about healthier lifestyle habits and make better informed healthcare decisions.

Friday 11:00a.m.-3:00p.m.

Location -
At the north end of the KVCH campus next to the Valley Clinic. Disabled parking is available behind the library on East Manitoba.

  • Healthfinder - This government site directs you to selected online publications, clearinghouses, databases, web sites, and support and self-help groups, as well as the government agencies and not-for-profit organizations that produce reliable information fo the public
  • drkoop.com - Well Connected - Led by Dr. C. Everett Koop, former U.S. Surgeion General, and others who are dedicated to improving the quality of people's lives by empowering them to improve their health
  • familydoctor.org - From the American Academy of Family Physicians, this site offers patient education documents for common medical concerns and conditions. All of the information within familydoctor.org has been written and reviewed by physicians and patient education professionals. The information is regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Drug InfoNet - This site provides information about prescription drugs. Search by brand name, manufacfacturer, or generic name.
  • MayoClinic.com - MayoClinic.com offers a wealth of easy-to-understand information on health and medical topics. New material is added every workday, all reviewed for accuracy by Mayo Clinic experts.
  • KidsHealth.org - Created by the pediatric medical experts from children's health facilities nationwide, Kidshealth provides up-to-date information about growth, food and fitness, childhood infections, immunizations, lab tests, medical and surgical conditions, and the latest treatments. Links to Kidshealth for Kids and Kidshealth for Teens.
  • CAPHIS - A list of reliable medical websites from the Consumer and Patient Health Information Section of the Medical Libraries Association.
  • MEDLINEplus - The National Library of Medicine's MEDLINEplus information pages are designed to direct you to resources containing information that will help you research your health questions. Both health professionals and consumers can depend on it for accurate, current, medical information.
