With AMH’s easily accessible Emergency Department, open 24-hours, seven-days-a-week, area residents have the assurance that emergency care can be given during the Golden Hour.

Atlanta Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department specializes in trauma care designed to stabilize patients for further treatment or transfer to a larger facility. With a highly-trained staff of nurses and physicians, the ER is your first stop for emergency care in Cass County.

Established in 1997, the Atlanta Memorial Hospital Foundation's mission is to seek, receive and administer donations and gifts for the benefit of Atlanta Memorial Hospital. The Foundation is a 501©(3) corporation governed by an eleven member Board of Directors.

Where does the money go?
Since 1997, the Foundation has disbursed gifts and grants which have provided funding for the Wellness Center equipment and brochures chapel restoration, memorial garden furniture, training equipment, computers with training software, infant car safety equipment, a 9-passenger specially equipped bus, free mammograms, new construction and uncompensated ER trauma care.

Aquatic Therapy

If your course of treatment involves exercise in water, it is available at the Atlanta Memorial New Attitudes Wellness Center. This climate-controlled indoor facility was specially-designed for those patients who need to exercise in water and is operated in conjunction with the Atlanta Memorial Rehabilitation Services Department. Aquatic therapy is also available for disabled individuals as required.

Chaplaincy Program

The Atlanta Memorial Hospital, in affiliation with the greater Atlanta Ministerial Alliance, maintains a trained volunteer Chaplaincy Program. This service is available to both patients and hospital personnel to assist in any spiritual concerns that may be encountered. Emergency Services

Atlanta Memorial Hospital provides 24 hour a day emergency services and was the first to be designated a Level IV Trauma center in Cass County.

The Emergency Room Department is staffed with both physicians and nurses trained in emergency services as well as ancillary services such as surgery, radiology, laboratory, and respiratory therapy.

Atlanta Memorial Hospital maintains affiliation agreements with several area medical centers for specialized services not available locally.

Patients are seen in the Atlanta Memorial Hospital Emergency Department in the order of the seriousness of their illness/accidents. Patients with routine, non-threatening situations should utilize their personal physician rather than emergency facilities.

Geriatric Psychiatric Services

All psychiatric care is provided under the medical supervision of a licensed psychiatrist with nursing and support staff trained in geriatric psychiatric care.

Atlanta Memorial Hospital places a high value on family involvement in geriatric psychiatric care and urges family members to be a part of the treatment process. To be able to maintain and enhance self respect and dignity during every phase of treatment, family members of prospective Senior Care inpatients are invited to tour the unit prior to any decisions being made as a part of evaluating what is the best course of treatment.
Geriatric psychiatric services are prescribed in conjunction with the patient's primary physician and are usually covered by Medicare.

Home Health provides vital care in the convenience and privacy of the patient's home. Home Health services allow for the recovery and recuperation of the patient in the home environment while maintaining an ongoing link to the full range of medical facilities available at Atlanta Memorial Hospital.

Laboratory and Pathology Services

The Atlanta Memorial Laboratory is certified by the Texas Department of Health and is a major provider of laboratory services in this area. In addition to a full range of laboratory services for hospital patients, the Atlanta Memorial Laboratory services physician offices, home health agencies, and nursing homes.

All laboratory tests are interpreted under the supervision of a licensed pathologist.

Occupational Therapy

The Atlanta Memorial Department is certified by the Texas Department of Health. The Mammography Department is certified by the Texas Department of Health and holds accreditation through the American College of Radiology. Radiology interpretation is provided by board certified radiologists.

Atlanta Memorial Rehabilitation Services involve a wide range of evaluation and individualized therapy services. In coordination with your physician, treatments are designed to increase movement and function, as well as to relieve pain and to create an overall improvement in your quality of life.

Interventions may include exercise, stretching, heat or cold, electrical stimulation, wound care, massage, gait training, or ultrasound.

Outpatient Rehabilitation Services is provided at the Atlanta Memorial New Attitudes Wellness Center located at 204 N. William (just south of the post office.)
