POSITION

DESCRIPTION

Certified Nurse Aide (3 Openings), 2 ( 11-7) and 1 ( 3-11) Assists professional nursing staff by performing routine duties in caring for patients not requiring nursing skill or judgment. Works under direct supervision of registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse at all times.
Licensed Vocational Nurse Assists the professional nursing staff in providing maximum patient care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of each assigned patient. Under supervision gives direct and indirect patient care as assigned.
Physical Therapist/Sign On Bonus Effective oral and written communication skills. Flexible schedule, primarily outpatient setting. Acute Care and Home Health coverage. Minimal weekend work. Competitive pay and benefits.
Quality Improvement RN/Case Manager Assist Discharge Planning as needed and support Utilization Review functions. Perform chart reviews for quality measures. Assist as needed with other departmental functions as needed. Licensed RN prior experience in discharge planning preferred.
Registered Nurse Has principle responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of each assigned patient. Plans, provides, and documents discharge planning, teaching, and educates patients, family or others to attain optimal health and continuity of care. Assures that the plan of care is carried out in a safe environment through performance and supervision of subordinate personnel.
Respiratory Therapist (Call In/PRN) Administers the various types of therapy available from Respiratory Therapy in a timely manner and as described in the procedure in the departmental policy and procedure manual. Assist with other related duties, as may be assigned.







Employee of the Month

Shelia Watkins

The Employee of the Month for April 2008 is Shelia Watkins of the Utilization Management Department. Shelia is a registered nurse that has been employed at AMH since March 1996. Shelia transferred from nursing to take the position as Quality Measures Coordinator in January 2007. Her primary responsibility is to ensure that AMH is meeting all of the CMS requirements for quality measures reporting. She has done an outstanding job as the Hospital's last validation score was 99%. Shelia assists with other functions in the department and is seen at the nursing units doing discharge planning at least one day a week. She is married to Barry, has one daughter, Courtney and a special grandson, Clayton. Shelia has been a team player for the UM Department and deserves this honor.
